What does “knee meniscus problem” refer to? PDF Print E-mail

The knee menisci are cartilaginous pads found between the tibia and the femur.

Each knee has two menisci - one internal, the other external - whose functions include stabilizing the joint and reducing friction between the tibia and the femur. Forceful twisting of the joint or a direct blow to the knee, which can occur while practicing sports or working, can lead to torn menisci. This injury usually results in knee pain, stiffness and swelling in the joint. If you experience pain, don't wait for your symptoms to worsen. Let us help.
